Raised in Hellertown, PA, Glenn’s proclivity for Horror Films (particularly those of the Universal and Hammer Studios variety) and Sci-fi/Fantasy imbued him with a ravenous appetite for all things genre related. This passion compelled him to work on various theatre projects as both actor and fledgling make-up artist throughout Junior and Senior High School. As an undergrad at York College of Pa., he landed his first acting role in an independent feature… which happened to be a horror film. He moved quickly to secure the Special Effects Make-up Artist position as well, and began creating the multitudinous gags on his first film with a shoestring budget.
Soon he was working on an array of projects sculpting masks for Halloween companies and collaborating with world renowned musical acts such as the iconic Misfits. Upon arriving in Hollywood he found his first foothold at Optic Nerve Studios as a lab technician, fabricator, painter and eventually sculptor and designer. After working tirelessly for years on several seasons of Buffy, Angel, and X-files among others, he eventually became CEO of the company.
Enjoying more than a decade of amazing shows, he partnered with longtime friend and collaborator Neville Page to evolve the shop even further into the newly renamed Alchemy Studios! He personally supervises every effect for his studio’s many projects and still applies many of the Make-ups. Simultaneous to his work as an FX Artist, he continues his development work as Producer on both NECROSCOPE and his own Television series based on the EC Comics franchise Tales from the Crypt/Vault of Horror. Marrying his passions for performance and FX, he stars in all 10 Seasons of the on-going Syfy Hit Face-Off! Future plans include franchising his own brand of Live Horror Entertainment in the form of Escape Games and an immersive Cinematic Inspired Haunt Experience for Halloween.
When one looks at Neville Page’s background and family, it really is no surprise that he would be involved in some form of creativity. His parents met in the theatre in Great Britain, his mother a dancer and father a musician. They eventually joined the circus, where his father played in the band and mother found herself atop an elephant waving at the crowd in a feathery outfit. You could say that when Neville was an infant he was not without colourful exposure. When his family moved to the U.S.A. in 1970, the “showbiz” mentality followed them. At 17, Neville packed up the car and drove cross-country to Hollywood to pursue the infamous dream.
During the time he was putting together his art portfolio, to make ends meet Neville performed at the Ice House in Pasadena and the Improv in Hollywood as a stand-up comedian. However, once at Art Center College of Design, he realized his true calling. He graduated with honors in 1990 and immediately started a design consultancy with his roommate; together they developed a wide range of products from durable medical goods to action figures. Clients included Jakks Pacific Toys, BMW subsidiary Designworks/USA, Mattel Toys, Nike, Rock Shox, Fiat, Universal Studios’ “Men in Black”-The Ride, and 20th Century-Fox which lead to his first opportunity as a Creature Designer for Film.
Since then his work as a Creature, Wardrobe and Concept Designer has made him one of the world’s most sought after entertainment industry artists. Working on the feature films “Minority Report,” “Planet of the Apes”, “X-Men 2 & 3”, “The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe”, “Superman”, James Cameron’s “Avatar”, JJ Abram’s “Cloverfield”, Zach Snyder’s “The Watchmen”, Louis Leterrier’s “The Hulk”, JJ Abram’s “Star Trek”, and Ridley Scott's "Prometheus", “Hunger Games, and “Agents of SHIELD”. In addition to his film career, TV appearances, and photography work, Neville is currently involved as a design consultant for the automotive industries and is developing his own line of educational art products. He has taught abroad in Switzerland and here at the Otis College of Art and Design and also at The Gnomon School of Visual Effects. His first Directorial Projects are currently in Development for 2017.
